Milad Mousavi (Tehran, 1987) is an Iranian artist who earned her B.A. in Economics from ATU University. Her paintings and drawings have been heavily influenced by icons of the abstract arts, though Mousavi puts her own stressful take on the genre. Her characters are often put through dangerous trials (being caught under a glass held by a giant octopus is an example) with no possible way out. She is also adept at portraying wide-open environments accented by structures and beasts of dreamlike size. Her works have been shown at Dastan’s Basement.
